Jeanne Frances Goff (71y) of Riverside RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 4, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was born in South Weymouth MA, the daughter of the late Everette R. Rand and Francis E. Shaw. She was the step daughter of the late Curtis Shaw of West Yarmouth MA. She was the daughter in law of Rehoboth MA resident Shirley F. Goff, wife of the late Earl N. Goff Jr.
Jeanne is survived by the love of her life, husband Brian B. Goff. She is the sister of Stephen Rand & sister in law Christine of Mont Vernon NH. She is the sister in law of Pamela Shaw of Attleboro MA, Earl Goff III of Rehoboth MA, David & Sandra Strange of Rehoboth MA, Richard & Alison Mancini or Rehoboth MA. She is also survived by her children Jarrod E. Olson and wife Nicole of Rehoboth MA, Amy J. Olson and husband Christopher O’Neil of Rehoboth MA, as well as Brent B. Goff and wife Taelor of Johnston RI. She was blessed to spread her love to grandchildren Shayne O’Neil, Evan O’Neil, Cayden Bryant, Chayce Bryant, Maximus Jarvis, and Weston Goff. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne attended South Weymouth Schools until her high school years, graduating from Dighton-Rehoboth High School in 1972. In her early adulthood, Jeanne tended to a farm in Rehoboth MA while raising her first two children. She had a love for animals, always having a cat or two…or three…or four. She was a member of Rehoboth Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School and was involved in the youth group. She was employed as a staffing associate at Bay Bank in Taunton MA and a Certified Nursing Assistant with the VNA in Bristol County to follow. Her love of family, friends, and neighbors knew no bounds. She was an “unpaid therapist”, welcoming everyone into her home to provide a listening ear. Jeanne enjoyed getting to know you deeply, initiating you into her family. She was also known as a second mother to many children, who sought guidance and support.
Throughout her life, Jeanne spent summers at the family’s West Yarmouth cape house. She found a sense of peace, the closer she got to the ocean. Jeanne loved to bake/cook, learning from “Auntie” and mother. She welcomed anyone to her dining table and often provided meals to those in need. She continued her love for cooking at her campsite at Peter’s Pond Park on Cape Cod, where many would flock to her picnic table for a bite and a chat. Food was her love language.
